  • Changing Trailer 14" -> 15" Rim

    I have a 2011 21SS with 14" rims. I'm due for tires and am planning to replace the rims at the same time. I am most interested in getting some matching rims for my truck, but they are only available in 15" sizes.

    Has anyone replaced 14" rims with 15" rims? The tire sizes listed show the overall diameter increases by 1". I believe I've got plenty of room to absorb the loss of 1/2" of fender clearance, but I'm curious if anyone has actually done it and had any issues. I honestly don't know how much the trailer suspension compresses bouncing down the road.

    Thanks!

    hard to say without knowing the trailer manufacture. But even if we, did we may not know for sure. Im going to say it will be just fine. I did what you're thinking about doing last year. Have had no issues.

      May not be an issue but make sure the bolt pattern on the hub is the same going to a 15”
      Tell me asshole - What's your fair share of everything I've worked for??? Please join me in starving and beating the govt back to it's honeymoon physique.

        You need clearance in the fender. You will raise your ball height and how much clearance do you have going into your garage.

          If you go to Discount tire they have a wheel and tire calculator that lets you put in your current set up, then your new set up. Will let you see the changes the between rim and tire size will make.
