  • Boat trailer cover?

I posted this in General Boating but should have probably posted this in trailer forum section. In the past I have always had a nice dry barn to store my boat trailer but barn had to be torn down and it may be twelve months or more before I can rebuild a building large enough for boat trailer. I have been looking but not really finding specifically a boat trailer cover. Anyone know of a site? Any suggestions? Just buy a tarp and get the wheels off the ground? Would a boat cover work for a trailer?

Storing a trailer is pretty basic. Keep it and the tires covered to protect it from UV. You could get a custom canvas cover, but I'd recommend using an inexpensive tarp and using that money for gas and beer.

I tarped my trailer before. It was trial and error. I ended up wrapping each bunk and covering the tires. It did a good job protecting the bunk carpet from sun rot.

Spreading a tarp across the trailer created pools of water, a mosquito, bug and fallen leaves trap.

Just to clarify, I have never seen retail trailer only covers, although I sure an upholstery shop would make one for the right price.......
