  • The Old Man KILLED it today!!

Had our Wildland Fire Pack test today, 3 miles in 46 minutes (adjusted for altitude) or less with a 45 pound Rack, no running.

Knocked 5 minutes off last years time came in at just over 39 minutes, not bad for 45 years old, spent the whole time kicking the kids in the backside driving them, Locker room smelled like Icey hot afterwards LOL

I get to fight Wildland fires again this year!! WOOOHOOO!!

    Love this stuff!

No, it was supposed to be outside but instead we did it indoors at a small track...

45 laps, it was like NASCAR at Bristol, had a few guys get dizzy....ok I pulled an Earnhardt and put a couple of kids in to the wall, they deserved it they were getting cocky...

good job Chris....Today I sent in my Montana PERS {public employee retirement system paper work for the Conrad Vol Fire Dept. Had 20 years in 2001. Got on the dept when I was 18. Thought I was the youngest to get on, but another guy got on when he was 16. Had to have a note from his parents. Should get my first check June 1st. 150 bucks a month. Yahoo.

Grat Job. The only way I would run 3 miles is AWAY from the fire. You guys that squirt water on those things are crazy but I'm glad there are those of you that do it. I'll stick with something that I can shoot back with and actually have some effect when it hits the target.

I think I have the best of both worlds Splitter, I should become a Deputy this year, and the Sheriff's Office is the Department that formed this Interagency Wildland Handcrew so I get paid by the SO, for both Jobs, the Wildland team is no different then SORT or SWAT.

Except that when you shoot at something with a firearm it usually stops. Fires don't.

Yeah buddy, we were on two fires that the only thing that stopped them was Mother Nature!!

Black forest fire we worked for three days and did some good work, mother nature comes in and drops 13 Million gallons on it and were mopping up

Fire in the face and air tankers in the Morning, Mop up at 1400. LOL
