    April Mid West boating

First weekend boating of 2019! Friday was nice 65 degrees and the sun came out for awhile. Saturday not so nice so we were only out for about 45 minutes. The boat looked good and ran well except I have a slave solenoid problem that needs to be replaced. Almost had to be towed in Saturday but we sat awhile and the boat started up, still nice to be out and the season starting.

The steering shaft was very loose and the connection to the gimbal was bad. Think 12" at least of travel at the tail of the outdrive. I replaced both upper bearing/bushing and Ron fixed up the ring and put in a lower bearing/bushing. So that trued it right up. The seal wasn't even in place but instead just resting on the ring. So bellows, shift cable, trim sending/limit senors, ring, pin, and various things were all replaced.
    Happy boating, Nate, enjoy.

Looking good, Mark; Beckman Boating is an artform that takes about 10 years to perfect. I would be glad to give you some pointers as you develop your own style. By the way what are drinking?
