  • Oh crap, where do I find a replacement on a long weekend

So must have been away with the fairies when putting an extra jerry of fuel in. Forgot to screw the cap back on and went for a decent run....

Bummer. Check with the marina. Overnight from Amazon. Direct ship it to your local Wal-Mart? Ok stuff the hole with anything you can find to keep the water out wrap it with a plastic bag. A cork bottle stop from one of your wife's wine bottles?

Had one drop into the lake once while filling up at the marina. The gas nozzle hit and broke the ball chain and we were on a week long boating trip. Luckily a friend had a spare. After that, I've always carried a spare.

Duct tape and generic emergency cap used...

Now to find a more permanent replacement, preferably near by in Australia! Think it's a perko 540.

You have to love duct tape! Not sure there is any problem that can't be fixed with duct tape. I keep a role of the Gorilla brand in my tool kit on the boat.

Now that I think of it, maybe we can send a few cases to D.C. to fix Congress. Three pieces per person should work - one to bind the fingers on each hand and one across their mouths!
